Wow, it’s been a year since I proposed to Valerie! Happy one-year engagement-versary!
Wedding plans are coming along. We have a date and location all set. We are doing a very small ceremony and meal (pretty much just immediate family), so I apologize that you’re not invited. Really, I do. We’d like you to attend, but like I said in the previous wedding post, we can’t handle a large event.
We are hoping to have a casual summer party where we invite more people. We have done zero planning for that though. Feel free to help get us started! For now, we’re focused on the actual wedding. We have booked things like a photographer and someone to marry us, so things are coming along. Val even purchased her gown and will be getting it fitted this coming week.
Progress is happening and it’s getting closer! Keep your eye on the counter in the top left for the up-to-date countdown to our wedding. It’s exciting and stressful! Well, really the only stress I have is attempting to minimize Val’s stress! I’m looking forward to the wedding and I hope we also get to pull off the casual summer party (see you there).
On January 12th Val’s great grandmother passed away. She was a nice 98 years old. You can read about her 98th birthday party on our August 28th post.
There was a wake on Thursday then the funeral was on Friday. It was sad, but not too sad. She lived a nice long life and it wasn’t completely unexpected. The funeral got together a lot of this section of Val’s family. Gram has 3 children (one who is Val’s grandmother, of course), 19 grandchildren (one being Val’s mom), 30 great grandchildren (one being Val), and 1 great great grandchild (a 7 month old)! Pretty impressive!
Gram also had two siblings, one of which (Al) is still alive. Not only was he at the funeral, but his family (including grandchildren) were in attendance.
It was nice to see everyone, even though it was under sad circumstances.
Hi there. Been a while since you heard from us? Here’s a quick summary of how we wrapped up 2007:
Parties, such as with Val’s co-workers. I enjoyed watching people do Karaoke. Val and her co-worker Amy sang which was fun, but I think everyone enjoyed when Val and I did a duet of “No Scrubs” by TLC.
For actual Christmas day, we spent it at Val’s parent’s house where we enjoyed good food, good candy, and presents!
It’s a New Year
Wow, 2008! Can you believe it?
Val and I went down to Providence for New Year’s Eve and saw the Mighty Mighty BossTones perform at Lupo’s! That was a fun show both because it was New Year’s Eve, but also just to see the BossTones back together again.
I’ll update with a few more items shortly. Stay tuned.
